Impact investing is often framed as a win-win — but too many models still privilege capital over entrepreneurs, extractive supply chains over justice, and commercial returns over regenerative economies. How can we rethink the ecosystem so it is more entrepreneur-centric, more transparent, and more aligned with systemic change? What role can venture philanthropy and catalytic capital play in shifting the field toward equity and regeneration?
This session will explore impact investing across contexts — from supply chain accountability in high-risk sectors like cobalt and copper, to bioregional approaches in the Andean Amazon, to inclusive finance that protects vulnerable workers and communities. Together, we’ll ask: what does it take to build an impact investing ecosystem that delivers not just returns, but justice, resilience, and regeneration?
